Each of the webs taught me new things about both Patrick and Alexandra which I did not know before. I enjoyed both of the layouts as well. Patrick's layout was simple so everything was easy to find. I liked it because I was not distracted by too many pictures and I could get the information easily. I enjoyed Alexandra's because of the neat layout as well as the many pictures. They were both very well done.

I enjoyed Spencer and Katie's stumpers the best. They both made me think where on campus the pictures were taken. The layouts for both stumpers were very neat as well. The color's complimented each other very well.

Ellitt Braud

PowerPoint

My PowerPoint

My favorite PowerPoint presentations were Patrick's, Spencer's, and Daniela's. I enjoyed Patrick's because it had good tips and was very informative. I enjoyed Spencer's because of his good examples and his good presentation. I enjoyed Daniela's because she did a great job presenting and had good information. There are many elements that I believe are important, but the most important are:
1. Readable text
2. Concise but effective amount of text
3. Do not go overboard with images and sounds
4. Make sure to not give too much information on one slide
5. Make the PowerPoint interesting so the audience does not dose off

Ellitt Braud

Images on the Internet

If I was going to search the Internet for an image for my Web page, I would be concerned with many issues and possible consequences that could result from my usage. Copyright laws would be the biggest concern I would have because if I use an image illegally, the ramifications would be devastating. Since I am a student using the image for a school purpose, the Fair Use policy would come in to play. The Fair Use policy is where students, teachers, and news people can use anything on the Internet in context. If this were not for an educational purpose, I would not be able to use some images. Another good way to stay out of trouble with copyright issues is to use Creative Commons. You do not need to cite a picture when it has no commercial value. Also, if you find it on the Public Domain, there is no need to site it. You need to cite or give information about where you got the image if it looks copyrighted. This is a general rule, that if it looks copyrighted, it probably is. Better to be safe than sorry. Get permission on things that you do not have the right to use. Following these basic guidelines will help to make work that is good under the restrictions of copyright.

Ellitt Braud

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is a new phenomena in the world that is changing the way people interact with each other. Examples of Web 2.0 include facebook and myspace. With Web 2.0 building momentum, I think that it has even bigger things for it in the future. I believe more and more people will continue to start using Web 2.0 and it will become a big part of every body's life. Businesses have started to use it to advertise according to the article I read. For example, Victoria Secret used facebook to launch its PINK campaign. I think the interaction that you can have with someone without actually meeting them might be the attraction to this new Internet craze. This is why it will become even bigger and better in the future. The Time article is correct because everyone has contributed to the change of Web 2.0 which has changed the world and the way people live. Anyone can contribute to You Tube, facebook, myspace, or blogs. This is why people are curious. I have written numerous papers and done multiple projects using Microsoft Word. I am familiar with everything about word except reviewing a document, tabs and tab stops, and creating an HTML file. I have never used these before and am curious how each of them works. They would all come in handy when dealing with future projects at Trinity University.

Ellitt Braud

Me

Hi my name is Ellitt Braud. I plan on playing baseball for Trinity as a pitcher and first baseman. I am from Plano, Texas, which is north of Dallas. Something that may set me apart is that I have a dog named Miss Bowser and that I play baseball. I have used computer skills in school and I know the basics of word, PowerPoint, and excel. I am excited to learn in more detail about each of the programs so I can be successful as a college student.

Ellitt Braud
